Stop HB 1232
The Colorado legislature is currently considering House Bill 1232, the so-called Public Option for Healthcare. If passed, this bill would hurt all Coloradans.
HB 1232 would force Coloradans to pay more for their healthcare and even see their local healthcare providers close down. The bill would create a government-run health insurance program that would lead to higher costs for EVERYONE, even if you don't use the government insurance. Further, the bill would slash hospital reimbursement rates, causing some hospitals to close.
And the negative effects of HB 1232 keep coming: the bill would slash funding to our frontline healthcare heroes. A drop in reimbursement means less money for nurses, doctors, and all of the frontline workers who work every day to keep us safe and healthy during the pandemic.
We Coloradans don't need to have our healthcare access imperiled and our healthcare workers undermined while they combat a pandemic.
That's why it's so important that we tell Governor Polis to oppose HB 1232. His veto can keep healthcare more affordable and more accessible for all.
Call the Governor today and tell him to stand with Coloradans and veto HB 1232!
